Established in 1948 by Ernest Dossett and Albert Woodley in Tottenham, London N17, DW General Wood Machinists Ltd has over 75 years experience of supplying high quality machined wood products and remains a family business with an exceptional high level of customer care.
Our customer base is wide ranging, we supply to builders, carpenters, furniture makers, picture framers, schools and colleges, architects, construction companies, builders / timber merchants, shop fitters, flooring contractors and DIY enthusiasts.
Services
DW General Wood Machinists Ltd is a fully equipped trade mill able to offer wood machining services to any industry or trade.
Our business is general wood machining: including mouldings, CNC routering, planing, cutting panels, edge banding, drilling, wood components, cabinets, displays, shop fittings, all completed to a high standard.
We can make any quantity of machined product, from a one off to long production runs. We make anything from small components up to a fully finished product.
CNC Routering
We have two Rye CNC routers, both with two router heads and four drills, capable of machining panels to a consistent level of accuracy. All programming and jigs are made in-house by experienced and skilled staff.
Mouldings
A Weinig 6 head moulder allows us to produce PAR sections up to 230x120mm, production mouldings from our range of pre-ground cutters (see our online catalogue under Mouldings) or bespoke mouldings to your specific design.
Panel Cutting
Our three computerised Altendorf F45 panel saws allow us to cut all panel products to a high level of accuracy. New for 2023 is an Altendorf Hand Guard saw, not only offering high levels of accuracy but the highest level of safety for the operator.
Edge Banding
We use a Brandt KDF 670 edge bander which is capable of edging panels from 10mm to 50mm thick and edging thickness of 0.4mm to 20mm.
Laminating Clamp
Our Taylor laminating clamp produces jointed panels up to 5m x 1m.
Deliveries
We run our own transport and can deliver direct to customers or to a site address.
Our Machines
Cube
We have a Weinig Cube which enables us to offer PAR sections up to 260x160mm with a very quick turnaround.
Resaw
We have a Stenner resaw enabling us to deep timber down to thickness and cut at angles.
Spindle Moulders
We have three spindle moulders enabling us to add rebates, grooves, rounds etc to profiles.
Planer
We have a planer with 760x220mm capacity.
Assembly Area
We have a large area dedicated to assembling products.
Other Machines
We also have a bandsaw, overhand planer, drills, overhead routers, morticer, tenoner, wide drum sander and various other sanding machines.
